A personal project of brief ‘street interviews’ highlighting the role care relationships and care work play in all our lives, holding us and our society together
Caring for the people in our lives is what makes us part of a community. It is what makes us human. Without it, our societies would grind immediately and disastrously to a halt. It is the ‘hidden engine’ that keeps the wheels of our economies, businesses and societies turning. But unpaid care work is valued at $11 trillion a year. And it is almost entirely done by women. As such, unpaid care work is also the scaffold on which systems of injustice are built.
